Glossary

Bathykorus - A type of hydrozoan found in the Arctic Ocean.

Cnidarian - A group of animals which contains anemones and jellyfish, known for their stinging ability.

Ctenophore - Commonly known as comb jellies, that inhabit sea waters worldwide. They are notable for the groups of cilia they use for swimming.

Hydrozoan - A taxonomic class of individually very small, predatory animals, some solitary and some colonial, most of which inhabit saline water.

Muscular foot - All molluscs have a specialized foot used in digging, grasping, or creeping. It is a muscular organ modified into different forms in different molluscs.

Nudibranch - A group of soft-bodied marine gastropod molluscs that shed their shells after their larval stage.

Rhinophores - A pair of chemosensory club-shaped, rod-shaped or ear-like structures which are the most prominent part of the external head anatomy in sea slugs.
